NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A North Platte man who previously took a plea deal in a Lincoln County child pornography case has been arrested again on additional child porn allegations.

Caleb Smith, 30, was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography. He is facing 19 counts of possession of child pornography in the new case. Further details about the latest allegations had not been released as of Monday afternoon.

Smith was originally charged in September 2025 with 16 counts of child pornography in Lincoln County. At that time, prosecutors alleged Smith began talking to a 13-year-old girl on social media in November 2024, sent sexually explicit images of himself and made plans to meet her for sex. He pleaded not guilty to those charges.

In late January 2026, according to KRVN, Smith pleaded no contest in Lincoln County District Court to four counts of manufacturing child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. Ten additional child pornography counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He faces more than 200 years in prison at sentencing, which is set for May 11 at 1:30 p.m., KRVN reported.

Smith is also charged in Hall County with 30 counts related to enticement. In that case, court documents allege he believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl on social media beginning in November 2024, sent sexually explicit pictures of himself and arranged to meet for sex. He has pleaded not guilty in the Hall County case.
